2026-09-21 22:10:00

The Lynk & Co 06 (Lynk & Co 06) is a strategic compact SUV from the Lynk & Co stable, representing a vital move by the brand to penetrate the youthful, premium-lifestyle market segment. Since its debut in 2020, the Lynk & Co 06 has established itself as a benchmark in the RM100,000 to RM150,000 compact SUV bracket, credited to its "mecha-tech" styling, rich suite of smart tech, and high safety standards. Beyond securing a strong following in China, it also spearheads Lynk & Co’s global expansion into the Middle East, Southeast Asia, and Latin America.

Model Overview

Positioned as a compact SUV, the Lynk & Co 06 measures 4,340 mm in length, 1,820 mm in width, and 1,625 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,640 mm. Marketed as an "Urban Mecha SUV" tailored as "The First Ideal Car for Young Drivers", its key highlights include design cues blending "Urban Opposites Aesthetics" with functional mecha elements, an advanced intelligent connected ecosystem, standard rollover protection across all variants, and diverse powertrains spanning pure petrol (1.5T) and EM-P super extended-range electric setups. As the most vibrant lineup in the Lynk & Co family, it seamlessly bridges the marque’s premium manufacturing pedigree with the individualistic demands of younger buyers.

Development History

Official Launch (2020): The Lynk & Co 06 made its official market entry in September 2020. As the brand's inaugural offering in the RM100,000 segment, it challenged the established compact SUV hierarchy with its philosophy of "entry-level luxury".

Product Line Evolution (2021–2024): Subsequent updates sharpened its youthful appeal. The Shero pink special edition arrived in 2021 to capture female buyers, followed by the refreshed "Remix" in 2022 with broadened trim options. In 2023 the lineup expanded into new energy territory with the debut of the EM-P super extended-range variant.

Globalization and Key Milestones (2024–2026): In 2024, Lynk & Co 06 accelerated its global footprint, exporting to the Middle East, Latin America, Southeast Asia, and South Africa. By January 2026, the model celebrated its 300,000th production unit rolling off the line at the Chengdu manufacturing plant, underscoring its economies of scale in the compact crossover sector. In April of the same year, the 2026 Lynk & Co 06 was launched, featuring refreshed styling details, the upgraded LYNK OS N infotainment system, and enhanced powertrain efficiency to maintain its competitive edge.

Market Performance

The Lynk & Co 06 has consistently maintained robust sales in its class by successfully addressing both the premium petrol and entry-level electrified segments. Alongside solid domestic demand, its compelling value-for-money proposition has made it an ambassador for refined Chinese automotive manufacturing across emerging overseas markets like the Philippines and Saudi Arabia. Amid the 2026 market climate, a sharp pricing strategy (RM118,800 to RM156,800) alongside continuous equipment enhancements has helped the model withstand intense competition, remaining a core pillar driving the brand’s steady annual sales growth.

Key Technologies

Powertrains: Multiple powertrain configurations are available. The pure petrol version pairs an efficient 1.5T engine with a 7-speed wet dual-clutch transmission (7DCT), striking an optimal balance between throttle response and fuel economy. The EM-P hybrid model employs a super extended-range powertrain pairing a 1.5T engine with an electric motor, extending cruising range while delivering benchmark fuel consumption figures even when the battery is depleted.

Smart Connectivity: Fitted with the latest-generation LYNK OS N system paired with a generous 14.6-inch central touchscreen on higher-spec variants, processing speeds are markedly improved. It supports continuous voice commands, remote mobile app controls, and seamless multi-platform smartphone connectivity for an intuitive digital cockpit experience.

Safety Systems: Pioneering the "Rollover Protection" system, onboard sensors detect critical roll angles and deploy curtain airbags within 20 milliseconds, setting a new safety benchmark in its segment. Top-spec variants also feature advanced driver-assistance features such as Auto Parking Assist (APA), Remote Parking Assist (RPA), and Track Back Assist (TBA), taking the stress out of tight parking manoeuvres.

Chassis & Architecture: Underpinned by a modular vehicle platform with front MacPherson struts and a rear multi-link independent suspension, the chassis delivers European-inspired ride and handling characteristics, harmonising daily urban ride comfort with composed cornering dynamics.

Future Plans

Future development of the Lynk & Co 06 centres on "Global Intelligent Adaptation" and "Advanced Electrification Evolution". Plans are underway to deepen regional customisation in Latin American and Middle Eastern markets, including climate-specific cabin material choices and localized telematics functionality. Concurrently, ongoing powertrain efficiency improvements will usher in lower-emission hybrid setups alongside large-model AI integration, making human-machine interaction more intuitive and proactive to sustain the vehicle's long-term prominence in the global youth compact SUV segment.
